MAY DAY RALLY
AT SFO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
On May Day hundreds marched and rallied with union members who were in contract negotiations at the San Francisco International Airport. The SFPD said 25 were arrested, including U.S. congressional candidate Connie Chan, California State Senator Josh Becker, SF Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, and Jane Kim, who was running for California's Insurance Commissioner.

Estimates of the national total of participants vary widely, with organizers claiming 7 million marchers, while other estimates somewhere between 5-6 million people in 2,700 cities. Either way, it was certainly one of the largest single-day protests up to that point.

In San Francisco hundreds of people joined the nationwide protest Free America Walkout to protest ICE, the DHS and the Trump administration, on the one-year anniversary of his second term as president.
